GOOD NEWS FOR EXPRESS KENYA SHAREHOLDERS
The shareholders of Express Kenya Limited celebrated to the news that they will receive a dividend of Kshs 0.40 per share held, an indicator that the continuous turn-around of the company is on high gear, with good results for the Financial year 2006. This was declared by the chairman of Express Kenya Limited Dr. Chris Obura, during the Thirty Sixth Annual General meeting held at the Grand Regency Hotel, Nairobi on Friday, 20th July 2007. This is the first time in over 8 years that the shareholders have received dividends. Over 130 shareholders attended the AGM to receive the good news and listen to the Directors, on how the company plans to expand the business for the next financial year. The shareholders expressed their gratitude to the management as there has been a continued steady growth over the last 4 years.
Despite the challenges like rise in fuel prices and the deteriorating condition of the roads, the gross profit has risen to over 40% from 24.5% in the year 2005. Part of the strategies included putting up a sales and logistics planning teams and investing in a new fleet of prime mover as transportation has played the largest role in the profits of business. All Directors were re-elected unopposed to serve an extra term in office before the next AGM to be held in 2008.

EXPRESS KENYA AT THE KCB SAFARI RALLIES
The last quarter have seen Express Kenya contracted thrice to transport safari rally cars to Nanyuki, Kabarnet & Eldoret during the KCB Mavuno Safari Rally series. More than 20 cars were transported on our specialized Car Carriers, most preferred by clients because of the safety record guaranteed to their precious vehicles while being transported to their respective destinations. We are glad to be associated with some of the winners of this rally whose services they enjoyed from us during this period. |

NEW CLIENT AT EXPRESS CONTAINER DEPOT
The ever growing demand for Container Depot services by Shipping Lines has seen the addition to one more international Line, which commenced use of our Depot on 1st August, 2007. The Management and staff have welcomed this new development and are set to provide a flawless service inorder to satisfy their specific client demands. Other than storage services, minor repairs, cleaning & transportation services of these empty containers is on offer. This brings to 7 the total number of shipping lines being serviced at the Depot. |

Shipping Lines Sign up
With the recent re-organization of our Container Depot, 3 shipping lines have signed contracts with Express Kenya for long term storage, repairs and cleaning of their empty containers destined for Mombasa. Transport of these containers back to the shipping yards in Mombasa is already on offer, in our continuous effort to provide completely integrated services to our clients. |

Focus on Mombasa/Nairobi run increases
Due to increased demand for transporting containerized cargo from the Port of Mombasa, the company has embarked on increasing its business portfolio with aggressive marketing of this service to local companies, Development agencies and NGO’s operating within the region. More Prime movers have been deployed to cover this market segment, which is expected to boost the company revenues, now and in the future. |
